Meet John. He works for a big “www” company in his town and spends 8 hours a day sitting at his desk, working on his computer. When John comes home from work, he crashes in his bed thinking: “Just a little rest and I’m off to the gym, half-way across town”. Now if you have a similar lifestyle to John and want to work out, you understand that the words “a little rest” mean a lot more time slacking around the house and that “the gym half-way across town” seems too far to reach, either because of weather, because you realize it’s too late (although it’s only 6 o’clock) or you are simply true to yourself: “I’m too comfortable and lazy to move half-way across town to go work out”. Yes, we’ve all been John and we’ve all been lazy when it comes to working out…but don’t worry, there’s an alternative solution to the problem.
As many admit, the hardest thing about exercising at the gym is not the actual exercising, but rather the trip TO the gym. But what if that trip would only mean “relocating” to another room of your house, or passing the lawn, to reach your garage. Yes, home gyms are the right solution for you comfortable folks out there. I’ll try to explain in the following posts a little about how to build your own home gym and what it should contain.
